In its report issued earlier this
month, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) trimmed its global economic growth
forecasts for 2012 and 2013. The report said that the macroeconomic situation
will deteriorate due to the deepening debt crisis in Europe and a possible
“fiscal cliff” in the United States.
According to the report, the world
economy will grow 3.3 percent this year, and 3.6 percent next year.

The world faces a "dangerous" cocktail of low growth
and high unemployment, OECD Chief ANGEL GURRIA said Tuesday, after the global
body warned of weak prospects for major economies.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in its latest global overview, said this month leading indicators for the 34-nation body point to "weakening growth in coming quarters" for most major economies.
"You have a problem of high unemployment especially among the youth — growing inequalities and low growth — and in some cases contracting growth," Gurria said at an OECD conference in New Delhi on measuring global wellbeing

.RUSSIA AND CHINA NEW DEAL
Russia is the leading producer of heavy
copters in the world
Russia and China are working on the design of
a new heavy helicopter, according to an announcement at the close of the
International “Innoprom”-2010 exhibition held in Yekaterinburg.
The design of the 30-ton copter is being done
with the Chinese Avicopter company.
The Russian Helicopters Holding- a subsidiary
of the “Oboronprom” corporation is in charge of production, marketing, modernization,
after sale servicing and integrated backup of the military and civilian
versions of the copter.
Russia
is working closely with China in the production of the Mi-26 type of
copter, which has been awarded high marks by China during its participation in
rescue work following the quake in Sichuan in May 2008.

RUSSIA
A new-generation tank designed on the basis of the “Armata” Universal Combat Platform will enter service in 2015.
According to the Commander
of the Russian Ground Forces Vladimir Chirkin, the tank’s trial model will roll
off the assembly line in 2013.
Russia will pass its first short-range intelligence-gathering drones into service in 2013.
The Russian armed forces
are currently using Israeli-made Bird Eye-400 drones of the same
class, as well as Searcher MK2 drones that operate on trial basis at the
Mozdok-based reconnaissance brigade.
Russian weapons will fire only in the hands of their legitimate owners. A unique system of control over the operation of weapons has been developed by the order of the Interior Ministry and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
An electronic chip fitted
into a pistol or machine-gun will be able to identify the marksman and block
the shot if the bio-metrical information does not fit.
.It is planned that in 2013, the
Russian army will receive new air defense missile batteries. This was recently
announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Forces Major General
Victor Bondarev.
Initially, it was expected
that the new air defense system, called S-500, will appear not earlier than in
2015, or, probably, two years later.
